Javeria Salar
I have always been fascinated by the universe, not only by its immeasurable vastness, but by how little we truly understand of our place within it. My work emerges from this curiosity, from a desire to explore the boundaries between what we see, what we perceive, and what may exist beyond our understanding.
Light and darkness are central to this exploration. I see them not as opposites, but as interconnected conditions, each giving meaning and identity to the other. Through their interaction with colour, form and space, I seek to create experiences that encourage us to question the familiar and become more conscious of how we perceive the world around us.
I am equally drawn to the relationship between the smallest and the infinite. The idea that a single point might represent both an origin and the possibility of boundless existence continues to intrigue me. It is within such apparent contradictions that I often find inspiration.
I do not seek to explain the universe through my art, but to create moments in which we might pause and contemplate our place within it. Through experiences that engage our senses and alter our perception of familiar spaces, I hope to invite each viewer to consider their own existence in relation to the vastness of the cosmos.

Where Everything Begins
Javeria Salar | Solo Exhibition
Curated by Bin Qulander | Studio BQ, Lahore
Every beginning holds a mystery. Whether we look towards the vastness of the universe or examine the smallest elements of existence, we encounter the same enduring questions: Where does everything come from, and how does something seemingly insignificant give rise to extraordinary complexity?
In Where Everything Begins, Javeria Salar explores these questions through light, colour and geometry. Drawing upon her fascination with the natural sciences, she creates a visual language that moves between the familiar and the unknown, inviting us to reconsider how we perceive the world and our place within it.
There is something profoundly human about the desire to understand our origins. We search for patterns, connections and meaning, discovering that the smallest point can open our imagination to the immensity of the cosmos. Salar's work inhabits this meeting place between observation and wonder, where artistic expression offers possibilities beyond what scientific explanation alone can convey.
Rather than proposing answers, Where Everything Begins invites us to experience the curiosity that makes such questions irresistible. It reminds us that every act of discovery begins with a willingness to look beyond what we already know.
